What is awesome in decoupage that there is an unlimited amount of shapes and objects that one can decorate. :D In this season, I have managed to make few beautiful Christmas ornaments in a heart shape. You can see them here and here. The silver heart is hanging on our window decoration and the one with a boy is decorating Ela’s Christmas tree.
Before I know how this ornament would look like I dug for days in my old collection of rice paper, yet I couldn’t find any design that would go nicely with the shape of a heart. After few days of going also through my napkin collection, I recalled of the nice Christmas paper given me by Asket.
The print that I really liked was round and too small for the heart-shape ornament but that didn’t discourage me in using it in the project. A bit of shading, adding a lacking background, some snow flakes, and the picture was ideal. :)
At the back side, I had the occasion to again play with relief outliner. :D
If you look closely you can see that the snowball in front of the kids is shining. I have achieved this effect by applying a 3D gel and white glitter. Unfortunately, it is not so visible on the pictures that the snowball is 3D but you can take my word for it. ;D
