Small surfaces – how to pick up the right motif.

Choosing a design for an object is not that straight forward. Big surfaces are easier to arrange simply because there is more place to play around.

How to choose a design for small surfaces?
When you pick an object and a motif you must check whether the whole image can be viewed from a single angle. Make sure that the image gives the same impression when looked at from afar as from close; as well as when turned to the sides.

Avoid a situation whereby the size of the image is too big for the size of the object. This will make it imposible to viewed whole image from the single angle. As a result it does not look nice.

Here you can see how the entire motif looks like. I have not used the whole design. The pieces are separated and I created my own lay out.

The deeper look of a design is achieved through background and motif shading. Of course, the bottle is finished with many layers of varnish. ;)

Coming soon a new project – bottle for summer lemonade. :D

Stay tuned. ;)
